Switched to working on the knee pad and pump devices that are worn on the leg of the Guavian Death Gang members.
Used this 1/2" hose.
I used the paint straight as thinning with water might not make it stick too well to the plastic tubing. I just poured a bit down, inside the tube and let it run down it. I also rotated the tubing about so it coated different areas. I put a clamp on one end so I could hold it up in the air while I placed to lower, open end into a trash can so the paint would run down and the extra would go out the bottom. It looks good.
While the tubing was drying over night I went to work on the round, upper thigh device. The costume guide calls for the bowl like shape to be set onto a square. I am using EVA foam as the base for this. EVA is lightweight and I am figuring this will get Velcro to the jumpsuit when finished. You will see below the square base, about 9 cm on each side and the stacked foam to form the bowl shape. I used E6000 glue along with one screw to hold the stack together.
Now it gets ugly. I put on a rough layer of Smooth-On Free Form Air. This stuff is very lightweight and easy to work with. Big plus is that it will clean up with air and has little smell to it.
Here is a shot of the knee pad and round bowl shape, along with the hose. This is off the action figure.
